Blair is One!

As you can tell I have not kept up with this blog thing at all...and I am sure the occasional random posts will continue. :) This post is special because it's about my baby boy turning 1, I can't believe I am saying that already, yes, he is already one. Where has the year gone? After Blair was born I was sure the first year was bound to take forever. My recovery was miserable and having a baby changes your life (for the good) and it's a huge adjustment. Eric and I have loved every minute of having Blair here, yes there are tough times, but there are many more joyful times that make life with him wonderful. Blair loves life, he loves his momma and dada (even though he has yet to say momma :) ). He loves walking, dancing, bouncing, eating, smiling, waving, clapping, playing with his friends, his winnie the pooh blankie he sleeps with (that doesn't come out of his crib :) ), "talking" on phones, and many more things. Blair is so easy going, we're very lucky! He is precious to us! We are excited for what is in store for the next year and all of the things Blair will do and the fun things we can take him to now that he is a big boy! I will post some pictures to recap Blair's first year of life, they are fun to look at and see how much he has changed and grown. Enjoy!

I knew Blair was a big boy...he was born 10 days past my due date, I pushed for 3 hours, and had to finally have help to get him out-so I wasn't surprised he was almost 10lbs :)

wow, it's been a long time-quick update

It has been forever since I have blogged, I didn't even look to see when I actually did last. A lot is going on at our house and in our lives since my last blog. Eric has completed 3 triathlons, and done very well! We are in the process of getting our house ready to sell, not moving out of town just thought we could see if we could sell it and see what comes next. Most likely apartment living again for a while. Our baby boy will be turning ONE next month, so I am in the process of attempting to come up with creative ideas for the party...so far so good. I have ordered a few things off of www.etsy.com and am waiting anxiously for them in the mail to see how cute they are :). Blair isn't walking yet but will be very soon as he is learning to stand on his own and learn that he has balance, he is very busy and into everything (as I type is being curious in the kitchen trying to open cabinets). Not much else to add for now other than it has been hotter than blazes here recently and we are ready for fall! I will of course add a picture of our precious baby boy with his new big boy haircut :).

Busy Busy

The title of this blog is not only describing our lives right now(mainly Eric) but also our baby boy Blair. Eric is currently finishing up his Thesis for his Masters in which he will graduate in May (so proud of him and all of the hard work he has done to get his Masters). He is also preaching 3 Sundays in a row as he does every Spring. Needless to say with these two things going on he is busy and I guess stressed a little more than usual. He is also the Best Man in his brother's wedding in May as well. With those two things we will be traveling two Saturdays in May out of state with a baby...should be an adventure:)

Blair is busy too...he is rolling everywhere! The other day he was rolling and I didn't think he was moving too fast until I turned around and he was already at the top of the stairs (one more roll over he would have been tumbling down the stairs). The next day I went out and purchased a baby gate that will soon be going up so Blair won't have to make any tumbles down the stairs. Blair is also saying DADA! We love hearing it...Eric especially loves it of course! He has been babbling for about a week now and will just go on and on, it's so cute!

Blair got a haircut the other day! This was his second haircut (his first was a little trim). They cut off quite a bit this time and his dark baby hair is all gone...he now has blondish brown hair and looks so grown up.

Blair is 7 months old! That's it for now!

Blair is half way to a year!

Well once again I can't believe another month has gone by in Blair's little life..he is now 6 months old! He is the happiest little boy and you will see that in the pictures to follow. Right now Blair is still taking 3ish naps a day and is loving his veggies, which good because, I don't like many veggies at all as I am a very picky eater. Eric and I have been wondering if Blair will be picky...so far, he is not, but he is a growing boy and loves his food. Blair is sitting up really well now and is almost to the point where he doesn't need the boppy pillow around him anymore, yay! He loves sleeping with a few stuffed animals now...an elephant, winnie the pooh, a lion, and a sock monkey :). Blair and I will be on "vacation" for two weeks starting Wednesday (the family I work for is going on vacation) so we will be making a little trip to Plainfield to visit family and friends. I am very excited and am looking forward to some nice naps as Grandpa and Grandma watch Blair while I nap of course. Ok on to pictures of our super cute little boy! Enjoy!

Blair is a funny little boy

Blair was playing on the floor this morning under his little play gym thing and I heard him fussing a little so I went over to see what he was up to and I found him like this. Needless to say I had to grab the camera...after making sure he was fine and still breathing! He loves to put things on his face and then kicks his legs and throws his arms all over so he thought this was pretty funny so I got some cute pictures real quick before I put the thing back up.

Blair is 5 months old!

I feel like I just posted the blog saying Blair was 4 months old, these months are going faster and faster. Which is fine when it comes to the weather because that means warm weather is coming sooner and sooner, but not when it comes to my baby boy getting bigger! Blair went to the windy city for the first time this weekend, we didn't make it to downtown Chicago but of course we had the traffic and a close call of running out of gas (and had to fill up in the middle of Gary, Indiana) so we had a few adventures, which Eric said, "adventures are always fun" , and I replied with "not when my life in in danger like driving through Gary at nighttime." I could make an entire post on that story, but I won't bore you.

Blair also went to Ikea for the first time and spent the time there in our Baby Bjorn. He is one heavy baby in that carrier, so Eric wore it for a little while, I loved seeing him wear it with Blair along for the ride! I also attempted to put Blair in the cart for a ride, that didn't go so well as Blair is not sitting up that well yet, ha! Blair spent plenty of time in his car seat this weekend and he was sick of it by the time we were about 2 hours from home and was pretty fussy, but he quickly fell asleep until we got home.

Blair got to hear Eric preach for the first time Sunday! (OK, so I don't know how well his hearing is yet, but hey, it's fun to think about) Eric preached on prayer and fasting and did a great job as always! I will end with a few pictures as I love to show you my cute little boy as he grows!

Blair is rolling!

Blair started rolling over on Valentines day! We were excited for him because he has been trying to do it for so long but his chubby arm was stopping him. After he rolled over the first time he hasn't stopped doing it and loves it! He has now forgotten that he used to like being on his belly and he no longer likes it and has also forgotten how to roll to his back...even though he had done that before, so funny and cute!
